The base is all black with a slight distress. Nevertheless clean, deep and comes with matte black fleece (450GSM, by the way) that holds everything else at attention. And then the “KAT” letters arrive across the chest in rhinestone grid embellishment. Each letter is filled with tiny crystal-like stones set in a close grid pattern that catches light differently depending on how you move and what angle you are standing at. The ‘By Raj’ lettering is a nod to one of the members of the Katseye group named Lara Raj.

GAP is embroidered small and white on the hood. The back is completely unbranded, which on this hoodie is actually the right call. Leaving the back clean means everything focuses forward, onto that rhinestone chest graphic that earns the attention it gets. Then the cuff does its job quietly. Two embroidered flag patches sit stacked on the right sleeve, India and the US go side by side. Both rendered properly, with the Ashoka Chakra visible in the centre of the Indian tricolour, and the full stars and stripes on the American flag that represent the fifty states. The Katseye Gap Lara Hoodie comes with the same personal identity detail as every piece in this series, and on this black ground with no other colour anywhere else on the hoodie, those small flags carry more visual weight than they would anywhere else.

The fit is cropped and boxy, sitting above the hip with a relaxed width through the body and sleeves. The fleece has a proper weight to it, structured enough to hold the shape of the rhinestone letters without puckering, soft enough to wear all day without thinking about it.
